Going beyond the words

We tend to have little actual understanding of death beyond what we may have read, beyond what a local religious leader has said. In fact, what we each know about death is most likely to have been passed down by other people (mostly men) to other people over thousands of years ago to today – a version of an endless Chinese whispers.

As a teenager I almost died several times and in doing so experienced something that did not match the words of my local church leaders, what I had read in both religious texts and other spiritual writings. This set me on a life-long journey to better understand death and dying.

This book is what I uncovered.
